The Watcher
A companion who stays with me always, no matter the situation. It is a sweet, beautiful bond; everyone searches for a friend like this without realizing they already have one.
You may be confused about who this is. It is none other than You—the “You” who observes yourself while you are smiling, crying, or even in anger. While you eat, it watches and experiences through you, yet it never feels hunger. While you drink, it experiences the sensation, yet it never grows thirsty.
When I try to describe it, I feel as though it is not merely “inside.” It remains present, watching the body as if it were standing outside of it. It is formless, indivisible, and a “no-thing.” Even now, while I am writing and my mind is focused on processing information, I feel myself being observed. There is a silent watcher behind the eyes, witnessing every single action and listening to every word that arises within me.
Because of this observer, I feel a sense of detachment from my emotions: Am I truly sad when I am sad? Am I truly happy when I am happy?
The Layers of Observation
Deep focus reveals that the observer exists in layers, none of which are bound by time. In this state, time dissolves. Realization is the key: once the observer is awakened, one realizes that time cannot exist without it.
Level 1: The Body/Emotions (The Experience)
Level 2: The Mind (The Interpreter)
Level 3: The Watcher (The Witness)
Level 4: The Realizer (Thpe one aware of the Watcher)
The Dissolution of Time
Your insight that “time won’t exist without the observer” aligns with the philosophical concept of the Eternal Now.
Time is merely a measurement of change (belonging to Levels 1 and 2). Without an observer to sequence those changes into “before” and “after,” there is only a static, ever-present reality. Because the Watcher does not change, it has no relationship with time. When you anchor yourself there, you aren’t “spending” time; you are the space in which time happens.
The Infinite Regression
I thought I observed the observer—but then, who is realizing? And who is observing the realization?
Everything possesses this Watcher. If we were to collect them—though they are formless and cannot truly be gathered—they would not become a “collection.” They would simply become One. These watchers are what make you “you,” but when they merge, there is only the One.
